2007: Returned from offseason shoulder surgery to make five relief appearances and record one save in 8.0 innings of work...recorded four strikeouts against two walks and carried a 6.75 ERA...gave up four runs on four hits in 3.0 innings of work in his final appearance of the season against Florida Atlantic (5/17)...gave up a hit in one scoreless inning of relief against Middle Tennessee (5/12)...recorded a save against Florida A&M (5/8), going 3.0 scoreless innings and giving up three hits and two strikeouts...touched up for three runs on three hits with two walks against Louisiana-Lafayette (3/31)...made his season debut against Harvard (3/28) and gave up two unearned runs on one hit with a strikeout in one inning of relief.
2006: Split time between the bullpen (eight appearances) and the starting rotation (11 starts)...went 5-6 with a 5.19 ERA and three saves...ranked third on the team in innings pitched (78.0) and strikeouts (52)...made his first collegiate start against Southern California, where he went 5.2 innings, scattering five hits, two runs (both earned) and striking out two...recorded a season-high eight strikeouts out of the bullpen in a six-inning stint against Florida A&M (2/19) to pick up his first win at FIU...allowed one hit and fanned six in a five-inning start against Fordham (3/15)...recorded saves to preserve wins over Seton Hall (3/8) with a 3.1-inning appearance and against Western Kentucky (5/13) with a three-inning appearance...also, against the Hilltoppers combined for his first career shutout with starter Akeem Francis...tossed two innings of scoreless and three-hit relief against Arkansas-Little Rock (5/18).
Prior to FIU: Played with current teammate Eric Horstmann at Florida Christian High School, where they won a state title in 2004...spent 2005 at St. Thomas University, where he posted a 2-1 record with a save in 12 appearances and 15 2/3 innings of work...the Bobcats advanced to the NAIA Region XIV Championship game, where he pitched the final 5 2/3 innings in the loss...as a senior at Florida Christian, earned multiple accolades, including the team’s Cy Young Award for being the top pitcher and MVP honors...also named First Team All-Miami-Dade by The Miami Herald and all-state after posting an 8-2 record and 1.49 ERA.
