2006: Led the team in on-base percentage (.477), second in hit by pitch (16) and third in batting average (.357)...recorded 17 multi-hit games and eight multi-RBI games...began the season with a hit in 21 of his first 23 games...finished the season with nine doubles, a triple and three home runs with 35 RBI...was second on the team with 26 walks...in his first collegiate start against UCF (2/5), he went 3-for-4 with a run, double and a home run while driving in four...had a career game against Rhode Island (3/13) with a 3-for-5 effort, including two runs scored and a career-high six RBI...was hit by a pitch twice against New York Tech (3/4) and Manhattan (3/18)...started 27 games at catcher and an additional 21 as the designated hitter...missed eight games due to an injury sustained in the series opener against Louisiana-Lafayette (4/21).

Prior to FIU: Played the 2004 and 2005 seasons at Motlow State Community College in Tullahoma, Tenn. where he earned second-team all-conference honors as a sophomore...led the team with 18 doubles and was second in batting average (.376) and in slugging percentage (.596)...hit seven home runs, 38 runs scored and 42 RBI...earned team’s Student-Athlete Award in 2005...as a freshman, hit at a .290 clip with three home runs, seven doubles and 22 RBI.

Personal: Born September 19, 1984...son of Luis Bautista and Sandra Santos...brother, Jose, plays third base for the Pittsburgh Pirates...was recruited by Georgia and Mercer...computer science major.
