2007: Made 13 appearances, including two starts...posted a 2-0 record with a 8.84 ERA and 10 strikeouts in 19.1 innings... picked up wins against Rhode Island (2/23) and Florida A&M (2/16)...went a season-long 4.0 innings in a start against Manhattan (3/14) and struck out a season-high three batters...gave up five runs in the no-decision...came on to provide 4.0 innings of relief against Rhode Island (2/23) and gave up three runs on eight hits with a walk and a strikeout to pick up the win...held Troy (3/25) scoreless in 2.0 innings of relief, giving up one walk...earned his second start of the season against Harvard (3/28) and gave up three runs on five hits in an inning of work in the no-decision...held Missouri (2/9) scoreless in 1.1 innings of relief with a strikeout.

2006: Arrived at FIU at the break between fall and spring semester along with Miami Dade teammate Akeem Francis...pitched well in seven appearances, giving up four runs, one earned run in 8.0 innings for a 1.12 ERA and held opponents to a .250 batting average...did not give up an earned run until his fifth appearance...struck out four in the Golden Panthers’ 18-1 defeat to Middle Tennessee (5/6)...went at least one inning in five of his seven appearances...limited South Alabama (4/9) and Louisiana-Lafayette (4/22) to one hit apiece in his appearances.

Prior to FIU: Pitched at Miami Dade College with current teammate Akeem Francis...attended three different high schools, winning awards in baseball at each...named Rookie of the Year at Cypress Lake HS as a freshman in 2001...was named the Best Defensive Player at South Dade HS in 2002...won the Pitchers Award at Westminster Christian HS as a senior in 2004.

Personal: Born October 8, 1985...son of Robert and Karen Lajiness...has two older brothers, Walter and Shawn, and an older sister, Kim...a criminal justice major.
