2002 (Freshman): Came in as a wide receiver but is being moved to a defensive back position...showed tremendous improvement in his new role...will compete for playing time at a corner back spot...runs the 40-yard dash in 4.49 seconds...has nearly a 35-inch vertical jump.

Thomas Jefferson High School: Three-year prep letterwinner...played in the state championship quarterfinals and semifinals...named all-league and all-county as both a junior and senior...participated as a Hillsborough all-star...played both wide receiver and defensive back for the Dragons and was named team MVP on special teams...coached by Mike Simmonds.

Personal: Born July 23, 1984...son of Steven and Tammie Janis...also recruited by Marshall and Troy State...Business major.
