2020: Played and started in all five of FIU's games in 2020 at safety... Led the team in total tackles with 35 on the year, his 25 solo tackles also led the team... He averaged 5.2 solo tackles per game, which ranked 33rd nationally and second in the league... Earned seven or more tackles in four of FIU's five games... Additionally, earned a pair of tackles for loss and two pass breakups in the stat column for the season... Helped the FIU defense rank 15th nationally and fourth in the league for passing yards allowed with 187.2 per contest... Best game of the year came against FAU (11/13) as he earned nine total tackles, with five being solos and a half tackle for loss... Also earned eight tackles against Jacksonville State (10/23), with seven being solos.

2019: Played and started in all 13 games for the Panthers... Finished the season with 56 total tackles, ranking fourth overall on the team and third among defensive backs... His 4.0 TFLs ranked second among defensive backs... Dames and Stantley Thomas-Oliver III were the only two defensive backs to register sacks for the Panthers in 2019, with Dames earning a sack against Louisiana Tech (9/20)... Dames posted a career-high 11 tackles against Louisiana Tech (9/20), with 10 being solos. 

2018: Appeared in 13 games at defensive back, making four starts… Dames recorded three interceptions, five pass breakups, and one quarterback hurry… His three interceptions were tied for most on the team and ranked 12th overall in Conference USA… Dames’ five pass breakups ranked second-most among defensive backs on the team and tied for the third-most of any FIU player…  His contributions in the secondary helped FIU rank fourth overall in Conference USA for passing defense and sixth in the league for pass defense efficiency… He was an important component on an FIU defense that recorded 17 total interceptions, which ranked second in Conference USA and 11th overall in the nation... He recorded a career-high seven tackles twice, the first coming against Indiana (9/1) and the second at WKU (10/27)... Against Arkansas-Pine Bluff (9/29), Dames intercepted a pass in opposing territory that led to points for FIU… He tied the program-high for most interceptions in a single game after picking off two passes against Marshall (11/24)... Dames was a ferocious tackler for the FIU defense… He recorded 45 total tackles, including 29 solo tackles, 16 assisted, and four tackles-for-loss… Dames had the most tackles-for-loss among defensive backs on the team and the fifth-most of any FIU player… He also recorded the second-most solo tackles and third-most total tackles among FIU defensive backs … Dames was named to the C-USA Honorable Mention Team following the season.

2017: Appeared in 13 games in the secondary for the Panthers... Started four times for FIU, with his first start coming against Marshall (10/28)...  Recorded 36 total tackles... Also had one pass breakup in coverage.

PREP CAREER: A three-star recruit according to Rivals…A First-Team Class 4A All-State selection in 2016…Played for Head Coach Tim “Ice” Harris at Booker T. Washington…Was named a 2016 team captain, leading the Tornadoes to a 9-4 record and an appearance in the FHSAA Class 4A State Semifinals…Recorded 83 total tackles with two interceptions and one fumble recovery in 2016…Named a 2016 Miami Herald Class 5A-IND. First-Team All-Dade County selection on defense…Earned MVP honors during Tournament of Champions 23rd Annual Miami-Dade All-Star Football Game (North All-Stars)…Picked off three passes in the all-star game…Registered 128 total tackles, five sacks and three interceptions (one for a touchdown) during his junior year… Named a 2015 Miami Herald Class 5A-IND. First-Team All-Dade County selection on defense…Twin brother Rishard is part of this year’s signing class as well….Chose FIU over UCF.

PERSONAL: Native of Miami, Florida... Twin brother, Rishard, is also a member of the FIU football team.
