2008 Indoors: Posted the Sun Belt’s third-best high jump, clearing 1.71 meters at the LSU Purple Tiger Invitational... Had two other top 10 high jump performances, a seventh-place 1.65 meter leap at the Tom Jones Memorial Invitational and a 10th-place 1.63 at the New Balance Collegiate Invitational... Finished eighth in a season-best 11.84 meter triple jump at the New Balance Collegiate Invitational... Competed once in the long jump, clearing 5.41 meters at the New Balance meet.

2006: Did not compete.

At Essex County College: Competed in track & field for two seasons... Placed fifth in the high jump at the 2004 NJCAA Indoor National Championships with a leap of 5 feet, 3¾ inches (1.62m), helping the team to a runner-up finish... Also ran a leg of the 4x800-meter relay at nationals... Named to the Dean’s List in three consecutive semesters with a 3.61 GPA.

Prep: Competed in track & field at Vere Tech... Runner-up in the high jump and triple jump and third in the discus at the Boys and Girls Athletics Championships... Four-time team champion... Posted personal-best marks of 5 feet, 9 inches in the high jump and 40 feet in the triple jump.

Personal: Born June 26, 1983... Daughter of Marian Wellington... Has four siblings, Denston (29), Shawn (28), Andrew (18) and Modina (11)... Named to FIU’s Honor Roll in Spring 2006 as well as the Sun Belt Academic Honor Roll for 2006-07... Off the track, enjoys singing, reading and writing poems... A social work major, with plans to pursue a career in medical social work.
