FIU Athletics

Dr. Michael Walker serves as an Assistant Athletic Trainer for the FIU men's basketball and women's golf programs.

Dr. Walker joined FIU in 2020-21 and assisted as a Doctoral Athletic Trainer for Women's Soccer program.

Prior to FIU, Dr. Walker completed a series of internships around Miami in different settings such as high school and physical therapy clinics. Dr. Walker also completed an internship the Summer of 2019 with the NFL's Chicago Bears.

A native of Macon, Georgia, Dr. Walker earned a Bachelor's Degree in Exercise Science from Georgia State University and a Master's Degree in Athletic Training from FIU.

While working at FIU as a doctoral graduate assistant, Dr. Walker completed his Doctorate Degree in Athletic Training from FIU presenting his Capstone Project "Exploration of Leadership Prerequisites for NCAA D1 Athletic Training Management Positions".
