Tim Edfors enters his first season with the FIU indoor volleyball program, bringing over 25 years of experience teaching volleyball techniques and training mehtods.
After spending eight seasons overseeing Webber International’s volleyball program, Edfors joined FIU’s sand program as a volunteer assistant coach in 2013 where he help guide the Panthers to its first AVCA National Championship.
During his time at Webber, he turned the program from a 12-person indoor team in 2005 to an army of both indoor and beach players numbering close to 50. Edfors started the first collegiate beach program in the county in 2009 which offered beach scholarships to both male and female athletes and is still running the only collegiate men’s beach team.
For the past year, Edfors has been the Director of the Doral Volleyball Academy in Doral where he is responsible for the overall processes of both the indoor and sand programs. His teams have participated at regional tournaments and traveled all over the state of Florida.
Edfors earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Webber in 1994 before receiving his certificate in business education from Florida Southern College in 1995. In 2006, he went on to garner a master’s degree in sport management from Webber.Â
