MIAMI (June 22, 2017) – Now that members of the FIU men's soccer program are well into their seasons in the Premier Development League (PDL), we will begin to do a weekly update of how the Panthers are performing on the pitch during the offseason.
 
The PDL is a development league sponsored by United Soccer Leagues in the United States and Canada, forming part of the United States soccer league system. The league has 72 teams competing in four conferences, split into ten regional divisions.
 
SIMA AGUILAS
SIMA Aguilas is second overall with a 6-0-1 record in the Southeast Division.
 
Santiago Patino | Jr. | F | Orlando, Florida
- In two games played, Patino has totaled three goals on four attempts.
- In his first appearance, against The Villages SC (5/13), Patino scored the only two goals for SIMA in a 2-1 win at home.
- SIMA defeated FC Miami City (5/20) 2-1 on the road, where Patino scored the game-winner in overtime.
- Patino is second on his team in goals scored (3), trailing first by a single goal.
 
Daniel Gagliardi | So. | GK | Plantation, Florida
- Gagliardi boasts a 4-0-1 record.
- In six games played, he has totaled four shutouts. He only allowed a single goal against South Florida Surf in a 1-1 draw (6/3) before this weekend.
- Gagliardi allowed two goals this weekend during the 4-2 win against Palm Beach Suns FC (6/18). He also tallied two more saves, totaling 12 saves on the season.
 
Esteban Calvo | So. | MF | Escazu, San Jose, Costa Rica
- Calvo has made six appearances in five wins and a single draw. Three of the five wins were shutouts.
- Calvo totaled 84 minutes during the 4-2 win this weekend at Palm Beach Suns FC (6/18).
 
READING UNITED AC
Reading United AC is third in the Premier Development League with a 5-1 record in the Mid-Atlantic Division.
 
Paul Marie | Sr. | D | Saint Aubindes, France
- Marie has made four appearances as a midfielder and assisted on a single goal in a 1-0 shutout against the Ocean City Nor'easters (6/2).
- Marie is listed as a 2017 Top Prospect for the PDL League; he is ranked 12^th out of 20 defenders.
- Marie totaled 75 minutes in the 2-1 win versus New York Red Bulls U23 this weekend (6/17).
 
Joris Ahlinvi | So. | MF | Gujan-Mestras, France
- Ahlinvi played 10 minutes during his debut for the United AC at the New York Red Bulls U-23 during a 3-2 loss.
 
K-W UNITED FC
K-W United FC is first in the Great Lake Division of the Premier Development League boasting a 7-1 record.
 
Darren Rios | Sr. | MF | Fort Lauderdale, Florida
- Rios has made six appearances and totaled 284 minutes. Five of the six games he appeared in were shutouts.
- Last weekend, Rios totaled 68 minutes during the 1-0 win at Derby City Rovers (6/19).
 
Donald Tomlinson | Sr. | MF | Hollywood, Florida
- Tomlinson has made six appearances in five wins and a loss. Four of the five wins were shutouts. He has totaled 547 minutes, playing four complete games and playing at least 80 minutes in six of his seven appearances.
- Last weekend, Tomlinson totaled 24 minutes during the 1-0 win at Derby City Rovers (6/19). 
 
WESTON FC
Weston FC has a 0-8-1 record in the Southeast Division of the Premier Development League.
 
Inigo Sagarduy | So. | MF | Coral Gables, Florida
- In his debut for Weston FC, Sagarduy scored the lone goal for his team during the 5-1 loss against FC Miami City (5/17).
- Sagarduy played his second complete game Saturday, 6/10, at Lakeland Tropics where Weston FC dropped a 4-0 decision.
- Sagarduy totaled 30 minutes last weekend during the 5-0 loss at FC Miami City (6/17).
- Sagarduy is tied for second on his team for goals scored (2), behind former FIU forward, Luis Betancur (3).
 
Alessandro Campoy | So. | MF | Miami, Florida
- Campoy has made three appearances during the summer.
- On Saturday, 6/10, Campoy tallied two shots during the 4-0 loss to the Lakeland Tropics.
- Last week, Campoy tallied a season-high three shots during the 1-0 loss at the South Florida Surf (6/14). He has a total of five shots on the season.
- Campoy totaled 57 minutes during the 5-0 loss at FC Miami City (6/17).
 
Adam Hassan | So. | D | Davie, Florida
- Hassan has made six appearances during the summer.
- Hassan's first shot of the season was taken at IMG Academy in Bradenton (5/20) during the 1-1 draw.
- Last week, Hassan took his second shot of the season at the South Florida Surf during a 1-0 loss. He also played a complete game during the 5-0 loss at FC Miami City (6/17) this weekend. 
- Hassan has played six complete games of his eight total appearances.
 
SOUTH FLORIDA SURF
South Florida Surf is seventh in the Southeast Division with a 1-3-1 record.
 
Andrew Booth | So. | M/D | Tamarac, Florida
- In his five appearances, Booth has scored one goal. The lone goal came during his debut for South Florida Surf at the Tampa Bay Rowdies U-23 during a 5-3 loss.
- Booth played 45 minutes in the 1-0 win over Weston FC (6/14).
- Booth tallied his first assist of the season during a 2-1 loss against IMG Academy Bradenton (6/14).
