MIAMI (September 6, 2017) – In anticipation of Hurricane Irma, the FIU athletics department has made the following schedule changes for home events through Sunday, Sept. 10.
- The football team's home-opener against Alcorn State University, scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 9 at 7:30 p.m. will not be played in Miami. The team will travel to Birmingham, Alabama on Thursday and play Alcorn State University on Friday, Sept. 8 at 6 p.m. CT/7 p.m. ET at Legion Field.
- The women's soccer game scheduled for Thursday, Sept. 7 at 7 p.m. against Stetson has been canceled.
- The Panthers' men's soccer game against Old Dominion, scheduled for Friday, Sept. 8 at 7 p.m. at the FIU Soccer Stadium, has been postponed. A re-scheduled date will be announced later. The men's and women's cross country dual meet against the University of Miami, scheduled for Friday at 8 a.m. has been canceled.
- The women's soccer game scheduled for Sunday, Sept. 10 at 2 p.m. against UCF has been postponed.
"We have decided to relocate a number of our teams to Birmingham, Alabama," said FIU Executive Director of Sports and Entertainment
