IRVING, Texas - After wrapping up a season full of records and achievements, Conference USA has announced the postseason individual awards for Women's Swimming and Diving. Four time champion FIU dominated the superlative awards, taking four of the five top individual honors, with Florida Atlantic earning the other top accolade. The superlative awards of Swimmer, Freshman Swimmer, Diver, Freshman Diver and Newcomer of the Year were chosen by a vote of the league's head coaches.

SWIMMER OF THE YEAR
NAOMI RUELE | FIU | JR. | GABORONE, BOTSWANA
Ruele was named the Swimmer of the Meet at the 2018 C-USA Swimming & Diving Championships where she collected individual gold medals in the 50 Free, 100 Free and 100 Backstroke and helped her squad to wins in the 400 Free Relay, 400 Medley Relay, 200 Medley Relay and 200 Free Relay. She also qualified for three individual events at the 2018 NCAA Championships. Ruele was named the C-USA Swimmer of the Week on Nov. 18 and posted the top times in C-USA in the 50 Free (22.11), 100 Backstroke (52.54) and 100 Free (48.67) this season. Her time in the 50 Free at the 2018 C-USA Championships (22.11) established a new school record.
FRESHMAN SWIMMER OF THE YEAR
SARA GYERTYANFFY | FIU | FR. | DESENZANO, ITALY
Gyertyanffy won gold medals at the 2018 C-USA Swimming & Diving Championships as part of the 200 Free and 200 Medley Relay Teams. She also helped FIU to the 2018 CSCAA Championship by winning gold in the 100 IM (55.77) and as part of the 200 Free Relay, which set a new meet record. Gyertyanffy finished fourth at the C-USA Championship in the 100 Free and seventh in the 50 Free. She also swam the second fastest time in C-USA with a 22.20 in the 50 Free during Prelims.
DIVER OF THE YEAR
REBECCA QUESNEL | FIU | SR. | BURLINGTON, ONTARIO
Quesnel was named Diver of the Meet at the 2018 Conference USA Swimming & Diving Championships for the second time in three years after taking gold in 1-Meter and Platform, while finishing second in the 3-Meter. She also advanced to her third NCAA Championships after helping FIU to its fourth straight C-USA Championship. Quesnel turned in the top score (311.95) in the conference in Platform, second-best in 1-Meter (300.60) and third-best (305.55) in 3-Meter Diving. She earned C-USA Diver of the Week three times during the season and was named to the In-Touch Credit Union C-USA All-Academic Team.
FRESHMAN DIVER OF THE YEAR
RACHEL FOORD | FIU | FR. | MELBOURNE, AUSTRALIA
Foord won gold at the 2018 C-USA Championships in 3-Meter Diving with a 328.45 and finished second in 1-Meter (291.40) and Platform (272.35). She captured the gold medal at the 2018 CSCAA National Invitational Championship in 3-Meter Diving and finished second in Platform. Foord posted the top score in the conference on the season in 3-Meter, second-best score in Platform and third-best in 1-Meter. She earned C-USA Diver of the Week three times during the season.
