@FIUSwimDive Hosts No. 39 Illinois This Weekend

MIAMI (Nov. 5, 2015) – The FIU swimming and diving team (5-0) will host the No. 39-ranked Illinois Fighting Illini (6-1) this weekend from the Biscayne Bay Aquatic Center beginning Friday, Nov. 6, at 5 p.m. ET.
 
The meet will take place over two days, wrapping up on Saturday, Nov. 7.
 
Day one will feature the 200-Yard Medley Relay, the 500-Yard Freestyle, the 200-Yard Butterfly, the 50-Yard Freestyle, the 100-yard Backstroke, the 200-Yard Freestyle, the 200-Yard Individual Medley and the 400-Yard Freestyle Relay. The day will begin with Platform Diving at noon at Miami-Dade College.
 
Currently ranked No. 16 in the latest CollegeSwimming.com Mid-Major Poll, FIU returns to the pool after a three-week hiatus. The Panthers have opened up the 2015-16 campaign with five-straight dual victories, including a 122-83 win over then-No. 24 Miami (Fla.). FIU has won 16-straight dual meets, including 13-consecutive at the Biscayne Bay Aquatic Center. FIU has dominated each of its first five meets, winning by an average score of 143.2-85.6.
 
On the year, the Panthers have tallied three Conference USA Athletes of the Week with a pair of swimmers of the week (Jessica Chadwick – Oct. 13 & Kyna Pereira – Oct. 20) and a diver of the week (Rebecca Quesnel – Oct. 20).
