- Following its game at UTEP, FIU will return to Lime Court at FIU Arena, for two-straight, beginning on Thursday, Jan. 28, when it plays host to Charlotte ... The Panthers will then welcome Old Dominion to Miami on Saturday, Jan. 30 ... Both games will tipoff at 7 p.m.
 
SCOUTING THE MINERS
- UTEP comes into Saturday's game with an 11-8 overall record and a 3-3 slate in Conference USA play ... The Miners are coming off a 71-56 win over Florida Atlantic on Thursday in El Paso ... The win snapped UTEP's three-game losing streak ... The Miners have dropped eight of its last 13 after starting the season 6-0.
 
- Hooper Vint and Omega Harris led UTEP with 19 points apiece, and Terry Winn and Dominic Artis also grabbed a team-high six rebounds.
 
- Moore leads five players in double figures for UTEP on the year in the scoring column... He is netting 13.5 points-per-game followed Harris' 12.4 points-per-outing  ... Earvin Morris (12.2 ppg), Artis (11.4 ppg) and Vint (11.3 ppg) round out the double-digit scorers.
 
- Winn leads the Miners on the glass, grabbing 6.1 rebounds-per-game, with Vint a close second pulling down 5.9 boards-per-contest.
 
THE SERIES AGAINST UTEP
- UTEP comes into Saturday's game with FIU holding a commanding 5-0 series lead, dating back to the 1998-99 season ... The Panthers are 0-2, both at home and in El Paso, and 0-1 in neutral site games with that contest taking place last season in the Conference USA quarterfinals ... The Miners handed FIU a season-ending 83-71 loss.
 
LAST TIME OUT FOR THE PANTHERS
- FIU got back on the winning track with a 72-56 victory over UTSA on Thursday night in San Antonio ... The win was the Panthers' sixth in their last eight games.
 
- Donte McGill led three players in double figures with a game-high 23 points, while Adrian Diaz and Daviyon Draper added 12 and 11 points, respectively ...
