- FIU looks to keep its good fortune going as it welcomes Charlotte to Lime Court at FIU Arena on Jan. 28 at 7 p.m. ... The contest is the first of a two-game homestand, for the Panthers that will end with Old Dominion on Saturday, Jan. 30 ... Both games tip off at 7 p.m.
 
- FIU is looking for its third-straight win and their eighth win in their last 10 games, after starting the season 4-6 ... The Panthers are 11-9 on the year and 5-2, and in fourth place, in Conference USA ... FIU's 5-2 conference slate is its best league start since the 1999-2000 season when FIU started the Sun Belt season 5-2.
 
- The Panthers are coming off another impressive win, a 79-69 triumph at UTEP on Jan. 23 ... Adrian Diaz led three Panthers in double figures, in the scoring column, with 20 points, while Daviyon Draper and Donte McGill added 17 and 16 points, respectively ... Draper also grabbed 10 boards. 
 
- McGill leads the team in scoring, averaging 16.9 points-per-game, while Diaz is netting 15.7 points-per-outing ... Draper rounds out the Panthers' double-digit scorers, averaging 14.5 points-per-contest.
 
- McGill is averaging 21.4 points-per-game in his last five outings ... He has also scored 20-or-more points in seven of his last 10 games.

SCOUTING THE 49ers
- Charlotte comes into Thursday's game with a 6-13 overall record and a 3-4 slate in Conference USA ... The 49ers have  won two-straight games - against Marshall (103-95) on Jan. 21 and Western Kentucky (88-71) on Jan. 23 at home - however have lost three of their last five games ... Those three losses have come by a total of six points.
 
- Charlotte is 2-4 this season away from Halton Arena.
 
- Braxton Ogbueze leads five Charlotte players in double figures in the scoring column, averaging 12.4 points-per-game, while Adrien White is a close second netting 11.7 points-per-outing ... Joseph Uchebo (11.5 ppg), Jon Davis (11.3 ppg) and Bernard Sullivan (10.5 ppg) round out the double-figure scorers ... Uchebo also paces the team - and Conference USA - in rebounding, grabbing 11.1 rebounds-per-game.
 
THE SERIES AGAINST CHARLOTTE
- FIU and Charlotte have met twice all-time, with both meetings coming as members of Conference USA ... The 49ers have won both games in the series, both being played in Halton Arena.
 
LAST TIME OUT FOR THE PANTHERS
- FIU is coming off a thrilling 79-69 win at UTEP on Jan. 23 to complete a sweep of the Lone Star state ... The Panthers defeated UTSA, 72-56, just one game prior on Jan. 21.
 
- FIU led for all but 3:15 of the game, and by as many as 21 points - 64-43 with 10:43 left in the game - before the Miners staged a furious comeback to cut the lead

to three, 70-67 with 2:48 left ... Eric Nottage, however, stopped the bleeding and ended a four-plus minute scoring drought, hitting his only field goal of the game, a three-point shot, with 2:22 left in the game to put the Panthers up 73-67.
 
- Adrian Diaz led three FIU players in double-digits with 20 points on 7-of-10 shooting from the field and 6-of-8 from the free throw line ... Daviyon Draper chipped in 17 points and 10 rebounds for his fifth double-double of the season - and second straight - and the sixth of his career ... Donte McGill also added 16 points on 8-of-13 shooting in the win.
 
- The Panthers shot an impressive 53.4 percent (31-of-58) from the field - their second best shooting performance of the season (Louisiana Tech, 56.9 percent, 33-of-58) - which included hitting at a 44.4 percent (8-of-18) clip from three-point range.
