MIAMI (Jan. 29, 2016) – The FIU swimming and diving team (7-4) will host the Miami Hurricanes on Saturday, Jan. 30 for the Biscayne Bay Aquatic Center. The meet is set to start at noon.
Admission to Saturday's meet is free to the public.
Prior to the meet, the Panthers will honor
Valerie Inghels,
Jessica Piper and
Becky Wilde, who will be taking part in their final home competition at FIU.
The Panthers have won seven dual meets this season, including wins over Conference USA foes Rice (133-90) and Florida Atlantic (138-62), as well as, ranked opponents Kansas (No. 44) (150.50-148.50) and Miami (No. 24) (122-83).
On the year, FIU has claimed 10 C-USA weekly awards (Swimmer and Diver of the Week), while sweeping the weekly awards four times. Sophomores
Rebecca Quesnel and
Kyna Pereira are the league's only four-time winner this season. Pereira is the reigning C-USA Swimmer of the Week after a pair of first-place finishes in both the 500 and 1000 free at FGCU last weekend.
