@FIUSwimDive Hosts No. 34 Florida Gulf Coast on Saturday

MIAMI (Jan. 27, 2017) – The FIU women's swimming and diving team (9-2) will host the No. 34-ranked Florida Gulf Coast Eagles on Saturday, Jan. 28, at noon from the Biscayne Bay Aquatic Center.
 
Admission is free to the public.
 
The Panthers are coming off a first-place finish during the FIU Sprint Invitational (Jan. 6). FIU placed first in 14 events and swept the top three spots in 10 of them during the 15-event invitational.
 
On the year, FIU swimmers have registered the top times in Conference USA in 11 individual events. Kyna Pereira leads the way with the top times in four events, including a school record in the 500 Free (4:43.81 – 11/18). The Panthers have also notched the fastest times in C-USA in all five relay events, including a school record in the 200 Free Relay (1:30.50 – 11/18). In diving, Rebecca Quesnel has notched the top scores in the 3-meter and platform programs, while Brittany Haskell has the top mark in the 1-meter. 
 
Currently ranked No. 44 in CollegeSwimming.com's national poll, FIU has totaled four C-USA Swimmer of the Week honors (Pereira – Oct. 18; Skye Carey – Oct. 25; Naomi Ruele – Nov. 22, Letizia Bertelli – Jan. 3), while FIU's divers have registered a league-best six C-USA Diver of the Week awards (Rebecca Quesnel - Oct. 18, Oct. 25, Nov. 22, Dec. 20, Jan. 3; Brittany Haskell – Jan. 10) this season.
