The Basics
- The FIU women's soccer team kicked off the first of its two final matches of the 2017 season campaign on Sunday as it welcomed UTSA to the FIU Soccer Stadium. The Panthers took a 2-1 first-half lead, however UTSA pulled out a 4-2 come-from-behind win over FIU. The Panthers drop to 1-12 on the year and 0-8 in Conference USA, while the Roadrunners improve to 3-14 and 2-7 in league play.

- All of the first half scoring in the first 45 minutes of play came during a three-minute stretch. FIU's Courtney Phillips (Arlington, Texas/Mansfield) started the flurry of scoring off in the 32nd-minute, taking a pass from Michaela Rouse (Allen, Texas/Allen) and beating a charging UTSA goalkeeper, Michelle Cole, with a shot to the far left post. It was Phillips' second goal of the season.

- Just one minute later the Roadrunners retaliated with a laser of a shot from 24 yards out going just over a leaping FIU keeper Nevena Stojakovic (Nis, Serbia) to tie the game.

- The Panthers regained the lead in the 35th-minute when Rouse and Phillips got together again, this time with Rouse beating Cole for her first goal of the year.

- Early in the second half, the Roadrunners put together another quick hit, netting two goals in a 71-second stretch. In the 62nd-minute, Katieann Lochte floated a shot over Stojakovic's head from 21 yards out. Stojakovic jumped to make the save, getting both hands on the ball, however the ball bounced off her hands and went behind her into the goal for the equalizer. Then, in the 64th-minute of play, Dina Draguicevich fired a shot from five yards out, beating Stojakovic for the game-winner.

- Kaja Skare recorded an insurance goal in the 78th-minute off a pass from Marianne Hernandez from five yards out.

- UTSA outshot the Panthers 19-7 on the afternoon, including an 11-3 advantage in the second half. The Roadrunners also held a 12-6 shots on goal advantage.

- Stojakovic finished the afternoon with eight saves
