The Basics
- FIU finished first in all 13 events and defeated Georgia Southern 148-94 in its final dual meet of the semester on Thursday afternoon at the Biscayne Bay Aquatic Center. The FIU record improves to 5-3 in dual meets this season. Georgia Southern is 2-5 on the year.
- FIU defeated GSU 145-117 earlier this year in Jacksonville.
- In the 1-meter springboard diving event, redshirt sophomore Brittany Haskell (London, Ontario, Canada) set a new Conference USA high mark with a 301.35, three-tenths of a point off previous her career high. It was her first score to surpass the NCAA Zone-qualifying standard this season.
- FIU freshman diver Rachel Foord (Melbourne, Australia) won the 3-meter springboard with a 312.90 performance. Foord's 298.72 in the 1-meter springboard was a new season-best score for her in that event and second only to Haskell so far this season by a C-USA diver. Both scores eclipsed the NCAA Zone standard at each height.
- The Panthers swimmers won all seven individual and both relay events in the meet.
- FIU senior Letizia Bertelli (Cremona, Italy) won two individual events, with a 1:53.47 in the 200 Free and 51.79 in the 100 Free.
