Burlington, Vt. | Virtue Field

The Basics
- The FIU women's soccer team closed out its two-game New England road trip on Sunday at the University of Vermont and battled the Catamounts through 90 minutes of action, however, it only took 68 seconds into overtime for UVM to hand the Panthers their third-straight loss to start the season. Vermont's Savana Yurick netted the game winner – her first goal of the season – after taking a pass from Brooke Jenkins and beating FIU goalkeeper Nevena Stojakovic (Nis, Serbia) to end the game.

- Although the Catamounts were aggressive offensively outshooting FIU 20-12, including holding an 8-5 shots on goal advantage, the Panthers' 12 shots marked a season high, surpassing the seven offerings in the first two matches against Miami (Aug. 20) and Dartmouth (Aug. 25). Grace Wilson (Maineville, Ohio) led the Panthers with four shots while Isabella de Almagro (Pembroke Pines, Fla./American Heritage) was right behind with three shots and a team-high two shots on goal.

- Stojakovic, now 0-3 on the year, recorded seven saves on the afternoon en route to the loss.

Stat of the Game
FIU couldn't seem to create chances and opportunities for shots in the first half. Of the Panthers' 12 shots on the day, only three came in the first 45 minutes of action. The Catamounts outshot FIU 10-3 in the first stanza.
