Davis, Dorsey Honored With Key to the City

The Panther pair were given Key to the City of Miami on Tuesday

MIAMI (Oct. 30, 2018) – After serving as a staple in the local community for the past three decades, FIU head coach Butch Davis and assistant athletic director Ken Dorsey were given the Key to the City by Mayor Francis Suarez on Tuesday at City Hall.

"Butch Davis and Ken Dorsey are proven leaders with deep local roots," Mayor Suarez said in a tweet. "As former Miami Hurricane members and now with FIU Athletics, I am honored to present them with the Key to the City of Miami and look forward to seeing them continue to shape the lives of student athletes."

Since taking over the football program in 2017, Davis has led FIU to back-to-back bowl eligible seasons with the Panthers going 8-5 in 2017 and sporting a 6-2 record so far in 2018. The Panthers are currently in first place in the C-USA East Division with a program-best 4-0 start in league action.

Dorsey was hired by FIU in late May of 2018, serving in the role of assistant athletic director.
