MIAMI (Nov. 8, 2018) – So you think you already have enough reasons to watch the Panthers play on Saturday night? Well, you might, but here are five more reasons to solidify your viewing Saturday at 7:00 p.m. ET. In this week's edition, we have prepared a haiku that will preview what you should watch for against UTSA.

A new week arrives
Records are meant to crumble
Butch likes messin' with Texas

Bounce Back Cats
When we say nobody enjoys losing we mean NOBODY enjoys losing. Asking your grammy, your mama and your mammy. None of them like losing. That's a good thing and if they have been Panther fans in the last two years the losing feeling hasn't lasted that long. Some might say that we've lost that losin' feeling.

Since Butch Davis set up shop in the big office at the R. Kirk Landon Fieldhouse, FIU has a fabulous record of 5-1 following a loss with the Panthers outscoring opponents by an average of 35-24. The Blue & Gold is 2-0 and has put up 82 points in the two games following a loss this season. So, in words of Aaron Rodgers, "R-E-L-A-X".

Rewriting The Record Book
From a QB that wears the number 12 in Green Bay, Wisconsin to a QB that is from Green Bay, Wisconsin and wears number 12. (BANG. That's what you call nailing a transition in the business, ladies and gentlemen!) QB1, or as his friends call him James Morgan, enters Saturday night's showdown in the Lone Star State tied for most passing touchdowns in a single season at FIU.

Morgan's 2018 crusade against opposing defenses is tied with Alex McGough's 21 from the 2015 campaign. Panther Track insiders have confirmed that 2015 was indeed a good year for the GOAT. The redshirt junior needs one touchdown to break the record and just think, he'll be back again next year. Just don't think too long about 2019, we still have a lot to accomplish this year.

The Texas Five Step
If you know anything about Texas, you probably know that if you're going to play in Texas, you have to have a fiddle in the band, all of George Strait's exes live there and everything is bigger in the Lone Star State. The one thing most people don't know is that Butch Davis is a perfect 5-0 against teams from the state of Texas.

Dating back to his days at Miami, Coach Davis has never lost to a Texas team, including a win over Rice earlier this season. If you really want to get deep, Butch went 2-1 against the Cowboys and Texans during his time with the Cleveland Browns, making him a career 7-1 against teams from Texas. If that is not messing with Texas, we have no idea what is.

Remembering The Alamo
Let Panther Tracks teach you a little something something about American history. Way, way, way back in the day before cell phones and air conditioning in South Florida, Texas wanted to become its own country. The only problem with that is that is that they were a territory of Mexico. Fast forward to December 1835 when a group of Texans took control of a mission in present-day San Antonio. It was really a who's who of American frontier lore, but now is not the time to list names. The siege on the mission lasted nearly two weeks before Mexican forces overran the battered and beat down Texans. Following the battle, the Alamo became a rallying point for other Texans fighting for Independence, much like modern-day hashtags (#PawsUp).

A little over six weeks after the Alamo, the Texans won their Independence at the Battle of San Jacinto outside of Houston against the same Mexican forces that won at the Alamo. This just goes to show that you should never doubt a small group of thoughtful, committed individuals. Panther Tracks American History 101 has now officially concluded and we hope you've paid attention because there will be a test later.

Mascot Analysis: Rowdy
Another week, brings about another bird that needs to be discussed. Such is life when you try to obtain bread in the mascot analysis sector. This week this examinee is Rowdy the Roadrunner from the University of Texas at San Antonio. Based on this name alone, the general consensus is that Rowdy likes to party, although Roary can get down the two mascots are not cut from the same cloth.

Roary enjoys airing the ball out and getting dirty in the trenches when necessary just like you think a big game cat would do. Rowdy on the other hand approaches his entire life with a never pass, always run philosophy because, well quite frankly, roadrunners can't really fly. They just kind of run around biting at the ankles of things and being annoying. It is safe to say that Rowdy would not last very long in the eat or be eaten world of the Everglades. We talked to Roary again this week and he wanted everybody to know that unlike Wile E. Coyote, he will be able to catch Rowdy this weekend because he has better "Technology" and James Morgan.
