The Basics

• FIU could not wake up the bats in their first game of day two of the Felsberg Invitational, losing 8-0 in five innings to St. John's, a team it defeated to start the day Friday. The game was the third of the day at Felsberg Field and FIU Softball Stadium.
• FIU slips to 1-2, while St. John's improves to 2-2
• FIU had just two hits in the game, and stranded all four runners on base.
• SJU got two runs in the first on an RBI single and RBI double before hitting two home runs in the second to just out to a 7-0 lead. A run in the fifth provided the margin needed to end the game by run rule.
• FIU junior starting pitcher Megan Kugelmann (Merritt Island, Florida / Cocoa Beach HS) took the loss, dropping her record to 0-2. She allowed four earned runs in 1.1 innings on four hits and a walk.
• Freshman Allison Muraskin (Deerfield Beach, Florida / Coral Springs HS) made her collegiate debut in relief. Muraskin allowed three earned runs in 3.2 innings, on six hits and three walks.
