The Basics 

• FIU took game three during the Conference USA series over Louisiana Tech on Sunday 5-1 in Ruston, Louisiana.
• The Panthers were able to strike first against the Lady Techsters for the first time in the series when Jackie Schoff grounded out to the pitcher in the first inning to score Tatyana Forbes. Forbes singled and advanced to third on a throwing error by LA Tech.
• FIU picked up two more runs in the fourth inning. The first came when Jessica Rivera cranked her second home run of the season to center-field. FIU's third run of the game was scored when Tory Jones doubled down the left-field line, bringing in Venessa Gallegos.
• Rivera continued her big day in the fifth when she singled up the middle with runners on second and third to extend FIU's lead to 5-1.
• The Panthers would score four runs in the sixth to make it 9-1, FIU. Schoff came up to bat with bases loaded and reached on an error by the LA Tech third baseman. That would score Gallegos. Then, Natalie Orcutt grounded out to third base and drove in Jones. Kasandra Castle would put the icing on the cake and drive in two more with a single to left-field. After FIU recorded three outs in the bottom half of the sixth, the game was over due to the eight-run-rule.
• Allison Muraskin earned her second win of the season. Muraskin tossed six innings, allowing one run on six hits. Muraskin's ERA this season is currently 2.58.

Next up for FIU 
The Panthers are off for 10 days until they head to Gainesville to take on the country's number two ranked team, the Florida Gators. The Panthers will play a double-header against the Gators on Wednesday, March 28, 2018. Game one is set for 4:00 p.m.
