MIAMI (Nov. 26, 2019) - FIU swim and dive's
Rachel Foord was named Conference USA's Diver of the Week for the second time this year, the league office announced on Tuesday afternoon.
The recognition follows an eventful weekend in Purdue. The Panthers captured second place with 612.5 points after besting Power-5 school Pittsburgh for the second time this season. Head coach
Randy Horner described the weekend as one of the best mid-season performances he has seen from the program. To put an exclamation point on that statement, the divers dominated in on all three days aiding the Panthers to their second-place result.
For Foord, it was a weekend of bests, on day one she set a new FIU record from the 1-meter event with a score of 351.50, where she also snagged the number one spot. From the 3-meter she finished second with a personal best score of 327.20. Foord closed out the weekend stint with a win from the platform event with 293.10 points, a new personal best score for the junior. All of her results qualify her for the NCAA Diving Zones competition in March.
The recognition marks as the ninth weekly honor of her FIU career.
