MIAMI (Nov. 7, 2019) – The FIU men's basketball team welcomes Ave Maria to the Ocean Bank Convocation Center on Friday, Nov. 8. Tip-off is set for 8:30 p.m. ET.

The Panthers come into the home opener in search of their first victory of the 2019-2020 season. FIU fell to Mississippi State 77-69 on Tuesday.

Four Panther players scored in double figures despite the loss. Devon Andrews posted a team-best 16 points while Eric Lovett recorded 11 points off the bench and went 3-for-6 from behind the arc.

Defensively, Osasumwen Osaghae added three blocks to his career total (133). He is only 60 blocks short of breaking the school record, which was previously set by Adrian Diaz from 2014-16.

SCOUTING AVE MARIA
Ave Maria comes into the game with a 3-0 record this year. As a team, the Gyrenes are averaging 100.3 points per game while holding opponents to 70.7. Individually, Leo Behrend paces the squad with 22.7 points per contest. Defensively, Jeffrey Steel and Marcus Montalvo average 2.3 steals per game.
