MIAMI – FIU looks to win back-to-back games for the first time since November as it heads out on its lone Texas swing trip of the season, beginning on Thursday, Feb. 7, at UTSA. Game time at the UTSA Convocation Center is slated for 8 p.m. ET, and the game can be seen live on ESPN+. FIU will close out the weekend on Saturday, Feb. 9, when it travels into the mountain time zone to butt heads with UTEP. Tipoff in El Paso is 9 p.m. ET.
FIU looks to improve to 15-9 overall and 6-5 in C-USA play.

Willy Nunez, Jr. chipped in with 16 and 14 points, respectively, as FIU snapped its short two-game losing streak with a 75-69 win over Louisiana Tech on Feb. 2.
- FIU trailed by as many as eight points in the first half, 33-25, with 7:21 left before the intermission and found themselves behind by five at the break, 40-35 ... With 7:12 left in the contest, and FIU up 62-58, Louisiana Tech started a run where it scored eight of the next 10 points, to take its final lead of the game, 66-64, with just under four minutes left ... It was, however, the trio of Jacob, Beard, Jr. and Nunez, Jr. that took over offensively, scoring all 11 points in an 11-3 run during the final three minutes – in addition to two crucial blocked shots by
Osasumwen Osaghae – to secure the game for the Panthers.
- In addition to his 16 points, Beard, Jr. fell one assist shy of his fourth career double-double – and equaling his career-high – dishing out nine assists. In addition, Osaghae recorded six blocked shots on the night against the Bulldogs, one off from tying his career-high.
- With the Panthers coming back from eight-down in the first half, the win over Bulldogs marks the 11th come-from-behind win this season.

- UTSA comes into its game with FIU with a 13-10 record, and a 7-3 mark in Conference USA, following its 116-106 overtime win over Marshall on Feb. 2 ... The Roadrunners have won three of their last four games, and 10 of their last 13, after starting the season 3-7.
- Jhivvan Jackson is one of two players on the UTSA roster averaging over 20 points-per-game - and scoring double figures - netting 23.1 per-outing ... Keaton Wallace is pouring in 20.7 points-per-contest ... Bryon Frohnen leads the team on the glass, grabbing 7.1 rebounds-per-game.

Brian Beard, Jr. has made his mark in the Panthers' record books ... Beard, Jr. is currently second all-time in school history in career assists (327), surpassing Dwight Stewart (264, 1989-93) against Middle Tennessee on Jan. 3 ... He sits second only to Carlos Arroyo (1997-2001) who finished his career with 459 assists ... Arroyo's total came over four years (100 games).
- In addition, Beard, Jr. is fourth all-time on FIU's career steals list (160) surpassing Patrick McDonald (147, 1982-86) against Old Dominion on Jan. 12 … Next up is Dwight Stewart in third place (172, 1988-91).
DROPPIN' SOME C-NOTES
- FIU's 117 points against Johnson & Wales marked the second-straight game that the Panthers reached the century mark … The Panthers scored 110 points in the season-opening 110-84 win over Webber International on Nov. 7 … Prior to this season, the last time that an FIU team hit the 100-point mark in regulation was on Feb. 26, 1998, pouring in 101 points against Centenary in a 101-74 win in the TAAC Tournament ... That was the second of two-straight games where the Panthers scored 100-or-more points ... FIU also did it five days before in a 117-79 win over Troy on Feb. 21, 1998.
- FIU logged its third 100-plus-point game when it scored 102 points in a 102-93 win over Youngstown State on Nov. 18, and accomplished the feat in its next outing, against Ave Maria on Nov. 23, in a 104-84 win in the Johnny Bach Classic at Fordham.
