Game Details
2019 Collegeinsider.com Tournament – Second Round
Green Bay 98, FIU 68
FIU (20-14), Green Bay (19-16)
Tuesday, March 26, 2019 | 8 p.m. ET
Green Bay, Wisconsin | Kress Center

The Basics
- Devon Andrews (Lorain, Ohio) scored 15 points, Trejon Jacob (Raleigh, North Carolina) had 13 and Elhadji Dieng (Mbour, Senegal) chipped in with a career-high 11 points, but that would not be enough as the FIU men's basketball team had its season come to a close with a 98-68 loss to Green Bay in the second round of the Collegeinsider.com Tournament. The Panthers finish the season 20-14, while the Phoenix improve to 19-16.

- Tuesday's outcome in no way casts a shadow over the 2018-19 season. FIU's 20 wins on the year are tied for the second most in the program's history, and the Panthers advanced to just their second postseason tournament since taking part in the 1995 NCAA Tournament.

- Despite FIU leading by as many as five points, 11-6, during the first half, the Phoenix would hold the advantage for the majority of the first stanza. With Green Bay leading by just four points, 32-28, with 5:15 left in the half, the Phoenix would blow the game open by closing out the first 20 minutes of play on a 21-5 run to take a 53-33 lead into the locker room at the intermission. The Panthers shot 37.1 percent (13-for-35) from the field in the first half and couldn't overcome a 58.1 percent (18-for-31) shooting clip by Green Bay, including 60 percent (6-for-10) from behind the three-point arc.

- The Phoenix didn't let up in the second half pushing their advantage to as many as 36 points, marking the largest deficit that FIU has faced this season. Green Bay finished the contest shooting 51.5 percent (35-for-68) from the field, including 40.0 percent (10-for-25) from behind the arc, and a blistering 85.7 percent (18-for-21) from the charity stripe The Panthers hit 34.8 percent (23-for-66) from the field on the night and were snake bit from three-point range making just four of their 28 attempts (14.3 percent).

- The Phoenix also held the advantage on the boards, 48-35, and in points in the paint (43-38) and fast break points (23-6)

Notable
- Tonight's starters for FIU were: G, Brian Beard, Jr. (Rancho Cucamonga, California); G, Trejon Jacob (Raleigh, North Carolina); F, Devon Andrews (Lorain, Ohio); F, Isaiah Banks (Conyers, Georgia) and C, Osasumwen Osaghae (Miami, Florida) … FIU is 1-1 with this lineup on the year.

- FIU forced Green Bay into 20 turnovers, marking the 15th time this season that the Panthers' opposition has had 20-or-more miscues.

- FIU's 20 turnovers forced, against Green Bay, gives them 666 turnovers forced on the season, a new single-season school record … It is just the fourth time in program history that the Panthers have recorded better than 550 turnovers forced in a season, joining the 1997-98 (580), 2012-13 (569) and 1996-97 (555) teams.

- Brian Beard, Jr.'s two steals against the Phoenix gives him 191 for his career … He finished his collegiate career 13 steals shy of equaling the all-time steals record in program history (204, Carlos Morban, 2001-03), and 14 from setting a new mark … In addition, with his two steals, Beard, Jr. finishes his career with 101 steals on the year, surpassing his previous single-season mark of 90 set last year.

- Beard, Jr.'s five assists gives him 381 for his FIU career – in just 65 career games … He sits second on the Panthers' all-time assist list behind Carlos Arroyo (459, 1997-01).

- Devon Andrews 15 points marks his 27th double-figure scoring game of his collegiate career.

- Trejon Jacob's 13 points is his 43rd career double-figure scoring performance, and the 18th of the season.

- Through tonight's game with Green Bay, and his two blocks, Osasumwen Osaghae has 130 career blocked shots, good enough for third all-time in school history … In addition, his 96 blocks on the season is also third on the school single season list.

- On Tuesday, Michael Douglas (Sachse, Texas) surpassed Dwight Stewart (1988-93) for sole possession of second place on FIU's career games played list having played in his 119th career game with the Panthers.
