MIAMI (Sept. 3, 2019) - South Florida local business, A&P Air Conditioning, announced in April of 2019 that they established a $25,000 endowment in perpetuity for FIU's College of Engineering and Computing for first-generation students majoring in electrical engineering or mechanical engineering. All scholarships awarded will be matched by the State of Florida's First-Generation Matching Grant Program.
 
A&P has now partnered with FIU once again, as the proud sponsor of the Coolest Fan of the Game contest. A&P and FIU Athletics are looking to treat fans to a cool fan experience during each FIU football home game. The winner of the contest could receive four club seats, FIU swag, a special pre-game VIP experience and a $100 coupon to be applied to any air conditioning service. In addition, A&P Air Conditioning is offering a 10% discount on all A/C repairs, maintenance plans and installations for FIU employees, alumni, students and fans of the athletics program when they use the code PANTHER.
 
Both A&P Air Conditioning's President and owner, Adrian Gonzalez (mechanical engineering '17), and Vice President and owner, Meyer Sarshalom (electrical engineering '08 and M.B.A '11) are first-generation graduates of FIU's College of Engineering and Computing.
