BY THE NUMBERS
FIU comes into the contest ranked first nationally with 142 total blocks and first with 7.1 blocked shots per game this season. The Panther squad also sits in eighth for total steals (190) and ninth for three-pointers made (204).
Osasumwen Osaghae enters the game as the nation's leader in blocked shots per outing (4.35) and total swats (87). The senior is also third nationally for field-goal percentage (68.7). Antonio Daye, Jr. ranks first in the conference for total assists (108) and assists per appearance (5.4).
LAST TIME OUT
The Panthers topped the Monarchs 83-80 for their first road victory in league play. The team shot 45% from the field and 44.1% from behind the arc during the win.
Trejon Jacob recorded his 1,000th career point during the outing, and the senior finished the contest with 12 points. Eric Lovett led all players with 21 points in the victory, and the junior went 6-9 from three in the game. Osaghae posted 11 points and was a rebound shy of a double-double.
MEETING THE 49ERS
Charlotte enters the contest 11-7 this season and 5-2 against C-USA opponents. The 49ers are shooting 45.5% from the field, and the team is averaging 67.3 points per game.
Jordan Shepherd leads the squad with 14.3 points per game and 3.8 assists per outing. Jamir Young paces the 49ers with 5.2 rebounds per game while Malik Martin and Amidou Bamba average 0.9 blocked shots each.
