MIAMI (Oct. 30, 2020) – The FIU cross country team is set to compete at the 2020 Conference USA Championships in Birmingham, Alabama at Veterans Park Saturday morning. 
 
"We're excited to get out on the course again and have the opportunity to compete," said head distance coach Jermaine Felix. "The team has been working hard all season long despite a nominal amount of races."

The women's 6K race will kick off at 9 a.m., followed by the men's 8K at 10 a.m. 

The Panthers' only meet so far this season came at the FSU Invitational, where Eliseo Torres and Emilie Christiansen led their squads to sixth-place finishes in Tallahassee. 

"We have a nice mix of veterans who have run in big races before, and a good amount of young runners as well who are motivated to contribute," said Felix. "I'm excited to see what they can do Saturday." 

No spectators will be allowed at the event Saturday.
