Panthers Battle Osprey on the Road

FIU hits the road for the first time this season when the team faces UNF.

MIAMI (Dec. 11, 2020) – The FIU men's basketball team hits the road for the first time this season when the Panthers take on North Florida at the UNF Arena on Saturday, Dec. 12. Tipoff is slated for 5 p.m. ET.

LAST TIME OUT
The Panther squad held JSU without a field goal during the final 5:15 of the contest when FIU earned the 74-70 win on Friday night. Overall, the Panthers finished the night shooting 41.9% from the field but 27.3% from three. Individually, Antonio Daye, Jr. led all players with a career-best 28 points. Radshad Davis posted his first double-double as a Panther when he logged 10 points and 10 rebounds.

BY THE NUMBERS
FIU enters the game ranked second in the country with 12.8 three-pointers per game. The team is also 14th with 10.2 steals per game and threes attempted (156).

Individually, Daye, Jr. sits 28th in the country and second in Conference USA with 12 total steals. The junior is also 17th in the NCAA and third in C-USA with 3.00 steals per contest. Dimon Carrigan sits 10th nationally and third in the league with 3.00 blocks per game. The forwards' nine total blocks are good for 35th in the country and third in C-USA.

SCOUTING THE OSPREY
North Florida enters the weekend at 0-7 this year. The team shoots 39.8% from the floor and 35.1% from beyond the arc during the 2020-21 campaign. Carter Hendricksen leads the Osprey with 17.3 points per game while Jose Placer comes in close behind with a 10.6 average. Defensively, Jonathan Aybar posts 0.9 blocks while Josh Endicott logs 6.8 rebounds per outing.

UP NEXT
FIU faces its final road opponent of 2020 when the team heads to Florida Gulf Coast for a contest on Wednesday, Dec. 16. Tipoff is scheduled for 7 p.m.
