MIAMI (Dec. 18, 2020) – The FIU men's basketball team returns to the Ocean Bank Convocation Center as the team welcomes Georgia Southern for a game on Saturday, Dec. 19. Tipoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. ET.

LAST TIME OUT
FIU topped Florida Gulf Coast 85-69 for the team's first road win of the season on Wednesday night. The Panthers shot 47.8% from the floor while drilling 13 three-pointers during the win. Antonio Daye, Jr. logged 23 points and a team-best six assists. Radshad Davis closed out the night with 16 points and eight rebounds, and Eric Lovett posted 14 points.
BY THE NUMBERS
As a team, FIU ranks fourth with 12.2 three-pointers per game. The squad also comes in 10th for threes attempted (213), 13th for steals per game (10.3), 15th for threes made (73) and 21st in total steals (62).
Dimon Carrigan enters the contest with 3.2 blocks per game, putting the senior ninth nationally. His 16 total blocks rank 13th nationally. Daye Jr. sits 53rd nationally and first in Conference USA with 119 total points this season. The guard's 37 assists put him first in the league and 30th in the country.
SCOUTING THE EAGLES
In its first year under head coach Brian Burg, Georgia Southern is 4-2 with wins over Florida National, Coastal Georgia, USC Upstate and Carver. The Eagles average 78.7 points per game while shooting 50.1% from the field. Elijah McCadden and Prince Toyambi are the only two GS players to start all six games this season. McCadden averages 10.3 points, while Toyambi comes in with 8.0 points per game.
