MIAMI (Feb. 29, 2020) – The FIU men's basketball team hits the road for a Conference USA game at Charlotte on Sunday, March 1. Tipoff from Halton Arena is scheduled for 2 p.m.

BY THE NUMBERS
FIU leads the nation with 186 total blocks and 6.6 swats per game. The team also comes into the contest ranked seventh for three-point defense (28.5).

Individually, Osasumwen Osaghae comes into the contest as the nation's leader for blocks (109) and swats per outing (3.89). Antonio Daye, Jr. leads the league with 136 total assists and assists per game (5.0). Devon Andrews paces the FIU squad with 16.2 points per game, putting the senior sixth in C-USA.

SCOUTING CHARLOTTE
Charlotte enters the weekend at 15-11 overall and 9-6 against conference opponents this season. The team is averaging 68.1 points while shooting 46.2% for the year.

Jordan Shepherd leads the 49ers with 14 points per game. Eight-time C-USA Freshman of the Week Jahmir Young posts 12.6 points per outing and 5.3 rebounds per contest.

During the first game between the teams, FIU fell to Charlotte 75-49 on the road. Eric Lovett led the Panthers with 15 points off the bench. Young led the 49ers with 19 points and also recorded four rebounds in the contest.

LAST TIME OUT
FIU lost its third-straight contest, falling to North Texas 78-59 at home. The team shot 40.7% from the field and just 12.5% from beyond the arc while allowing the Mean Green to go 49.1% overall and 56.3% from three.

Osaghae led all Panther players with 18 points while Cameron Corcoran posted 10 points and four assists during the losing effort.

The Panthers remain on the road as the team faces Louisiana Tech on Wednesday, March 4. Tipoff from Thomas Assembly Center is slated for 7:30 p.m.
