BY THE NUMBERS
The Panthers lead the nation with 163 blocked shots this season and a 6.8 swats per contest average. The team also ranks seventh with 225 total steals this season.
Individually, Osasumwen Osaghae comes in as the nation's leading shot-blocker with 97 total swats and a 4.04 blocked shots per game average. Antonio Daye, Jr. posts a conference-best 5.2 assists per game average, and the sophomore guard 125 total assists ranks 35th nationally.
LAST TIME OUT
FIU topped FAU 69-50 in a midweek tilt at the Ocean Bank Convocation Center. The Panthers shot 42.6% from the field and held the opposition to 6.3% from behind the arc.
Devon Andrews posted a squad-best 15 points in the contest while Osaghae followed closely behind with 13 points of his own. Fellow senior Trejon Jacob tallied a team-high eight rebounds and forced five steals during the special Senior Day victory.
GETTING TO KNOW THE OWLS
FAU dropped to 14-10 for the season and 6-5 in conference play following the loss at the Ocean Bank Convocation Center. As a team, Florida Atlantic is averaging 71.2 points while shooting 42.7% this season.
During the first matchup between the teams, Aleksandar Zecevic scored 13 points off the bench to lead all Owl players. Cornelius Taylor logged a squad-high 30 minutes in the loss and went 4-12 from the field while recording FAU's only three-pointer of the game.
