MIAMI (March 7, 2020) - The FIU women's tennis team defeated Charlotte 4-1 on Saturday afternoon, as the Panthers stayed perfect in Conference USA play for the season. 

With the win, FIU improves to 7-2 overall and 3-0 in league action. 

The Panthers began the day capturing the doubles point, before winning three matches in singles play to clinch the 4-1 win.

Kamila Umarova led the Panthers on Saturday as she clinched the 4-1 victory with her straight-set win on court one. The Panthers began the day with a win in doubles action, as Umarova and partner Basak Akbas took down their 49er foes in a tight, 7-6(4-0) match. Akbas capped her day with a win in singles action as well, winning in straight-sets on court four. 

UP NEXT
FIU will seek to extend its win streak to five matches on Monday, March 9 as the Panthers host Boston University. First serve is slated for noon.
