ATHENS, Georgia (March, 9, 2020) - FIU swimming and diving's
Mandy Song punched her ticket for the NCAA Championships on Monday afternoon, as the freshman won the 1-meter event at the NCAA Zone B Diving Championships at Gabrielsen Natatorium.
Song won the 1-meter event after earning a combined score of 608.45 over the course of the preliminary and final rounds. With the victory, Song will represent FIU in the NCAA Championships 1-meter event on March 18-21 in Athens.
Fellow Panther
Maha Gouda placed eighth overall in the same event, as the sophomore scored 565.80 points. Gouda will have two more opportunities to qualify for the NCAA Championships, however, with the 3-meter and platform events set to take place later this week.
Zone B competition resumes Tuesday, March 10 with the 3-meter preliminary session beginning at 3:30 p.m. ET.
