LAST TIME OUT
FIU went 1-1 at Middle Tennessee during the Panthers' first-weekend road series of league play. The Panthers topped the Blue Raiders 68-55 before dropping the series finale 67-56. Antonio Daye, Jr. was the high scorer for the Panthers during both games as the guard posted 20 points during the loss at MT and 17 during FIU's road victory.
BY THE NUMBERS
FIU enters the contest third in the nation with 11.8 threes per game and fourth for 395 three-pointers attempted this season. The squad's 141 makes from beyond the arc comes in at fifth in the country, along with the 10.0 steals per game.
Daye Jr. ranks first in the conference and sixth nationally with 32 total steals this season, and the guard's 65 assists are 21st in the country and lead the league. Dimon Carrigan's 2.90 blocks per game rank the senior 13th in the country and second in C-USA.
SCOUTING FAU
The Owls enter the contest at 5-6 overall this season and 0-2 in conference play. FAU has lost three-straight games, including a pair to C-USA foe Old Dominion. The team averages 80.5 points while shooting 47.2% from the floor during its 2020-21 campaign. Individually, Jailyn Ingram leads the Owl squad with 16.0 points per game and 6.4 rebounds per outing.
FIU head coach Jeremy Ballard is 4-1 against FAU during his three years with the Panther program. During the 2019-20 season, FIU went undefeated against the Owls.
