MIAMI (Jan. 28, 2021) – The FIU men's basketball team hits the road for a pair of Conference USA games at Charlotte. Tipoff from Halton Arena on Friday, Jan. 29, is set for 6 p.m. ET, while the contest on Saturday, Jan. 30, is slated for 4 p.m.

LAST TIME OUT
The Panthers fell in both games against Marshall last weekend. Three Panthers scored in double-figures during the 79-66 loss to the Thundering Herd, including
Jonathan Nunez, who posted a career-best 11 points.
Javaunte Hawkins scored a season-high 20 points in the 89-72 loss to MU.
BY THE NUMBERS
FIU comes into the series ranked second nationally with 11.3 three-pointers per game and third with 512 threes attempted this season. The team also sits fifth with 181 threes made and 11th with 141 total steals for its 2020-21 campaign.
Antonio Daye, Jr. is 14th in the country and second in C-USA with 36 steals this year. The guard is also first in the league and 24th nationally with 80 assists. Defensively,
Dimon Carrigan's 2.36 blocks per outing puts the senior 22nd in the nation and second in the conference.
SCOUTING CHARLOTTE
Charlotte enters the weekend at 7-7 overall and 3-3 against league opponents. The 49ers are averaging 64.7 points per game while shooting 44.1% on the year. Jahmir Young leads the squad with 19.1 points per game. The sophomore ranks first in the conference with 100 free-throws attempted and 80 foul shots made. A preseason all-conference selection, Young was also named the Conference USA Freshman of the Year following the 2019-20 regular season.
