ORLANDO (October 12, 2021) - The FIU cross country team competed at the UCF Invite in Orlando on Friday evening, with a number of impressive performances as the Panthers near the conclusion of the regular season.
On the men's side,
Eliseo Torres and
Chris Ivonnet finished in the top-10 for FIU, guiding the Panthers to a third place finish. Torres ran the 6K in 19:23 for an eighth place finish, while Ivonnet was right behind in 19:29 for 10th.
Alejandro Garcia,
Roger Reyes, and
Jonathan Pineda rounded out the top five for FIU, who placed all their scoring athletes in the top twenty.
On the women's side,
Andrea Loizidou was the top Panthers with a 19th place finish in 17:40 in the race, which was officially labeled as 2.9 miles.
Leonarda Farkas was close behind in 17:42, while
Daira Deicmane,
Johanna Kleiner, and
Delilah Ayan completed the scoring for FIU.
The Panthers will now prepare for the FSU XC Invite on October 15 before the Conference USA Championships, which is set to take place on October 30.
