MIAMI (Nov. 9, 2021) – Mauro Bravo of the FIU men's soccer team garnered national recognition after a standout performance last week in FIU's Conference USA title victory over No. 1 ranked Marshall, as the Panther midfielder graced both TopDrawerSoccer.com's National Team of the Week, and CollegeSoccerNews.com's National Team of the Week.

The national honors for Bravo come after the midfielder logged a game-high three points against defending NCAA champion Marshall to help FIU clinch its second C-USA regular-season title in the last five seasons.

FIU has now seen three Panthers earn national team of the week honors this season, after defenders David Garcia (Sept. 7) and Philip Hildebrandt (Aug. 31) earned the recognition in weeks prior.

Bravo logged one goal and one assist in FIU's dominating win over No. 1 ranked Marshall. The native of Madrid, Spain had the equalizing goal for FIU in the 17th minute after positioning himself perfectly to find a cross in the box, then finishing with a scoring strike to knot up the match at 1-1. The attacking midfielder helped ice the game and extend FIU's lead to 4-1 after serving up a great corner kick in the 79th minute for Matteo Gasperoni, who fired the ball into the back of the net to give FIU a 4-1 lead and seal the C-USA title.

UP NEXT
FIU opens play in the C-USA Tournament Semifinals round on Friday, Nov. 12, at 4:30 p.m. ET on ESPN+. The Panthers await the winner of the match between No. 4 seed Kentucky and No. 4 Coastal Carolina, which will take place on Wednesday, Nov. 10.
