MIAMI (Feb. 18, 2021) – The FIU track and field team is set to compete at the 2021 Conference USA Indoor Championships, hosted by UAB at the Birmingham Crossplex February 20-21.

Action begins at 9 a.m. on Saturday with the heptathlon, while action on the track kicks off at 3 p.m. with the men's 1600m trials. 
The Panthers enter with high aspirations coming off an impressive final regular season performance at Marshall. 
Filippa Miller broke her own school record for the second time this season, and the team earned four victories over the course of the competition. 
Miller, a sophomore, jumped 3.97m (13', 0.25") to win the pole vault competition. Junior 
Kiera Forde-Richards excelled in the 200m finals, running 24.93 to take her first collegiate victory. 
Andrea Loizidou and 
Lisa Adjouadi placed first and second in the 1000m, while freshman 
Maika Cuenca set a personal best in the long jump at 5.55m to place first, with teammate 
Fabiola Declet right behind her at 5.51m to earn second. 
Nicole Janse Van Rensberg set an impressive personal best in the pole vault, jumping 3.72m, an improvement from her previous best of 3.50m in her first meet of the season at Clemson. 
No spectators will be allowed at the C-USA Indoor Championships this year due to COVID-19 protocols.
