MIAMI (March 2, 2021) – Alessandro Campoy of FIU men's soccer has been named Conference USA Offensive Player of the Week, the league office announced on Tuesday afternoon.

The award marks the second time Campoy has claimed the league honor, after last winning it on Sept. 16, 2019 following a hat-trick against FAU.

Campoy scored two goals in FIU's win over Fort Lauderdale on Monday, March 2, and led all players with eight shots and five on-goal. The attacking midfielder scored just before the half against the Eagles on a set-piece opportunity, finding a cross in the box and firing it past the UFTL keeper. Campoy scored on a penalty kick situation after the break to notch the brace and give FIU its first 5-0 victory since Sept. 21, 2019 against ODU.

UP NEXT
FIU is set to begin the C-USA portion of its schedule this Saturday, March 6, when the Panthers host FAU at home. First kick is set for Noon against the Owls.
