DALLAS (April 28, 2021) – After a stellar spring on the links for the FIU women's golf team,
Carolina Andrade was named the 2021 Conference USA Most Improved Golfer of the Year. Andrade also earned All-Conference USA First Team honors in addition to her superlative award on Wednesday.
The senior shaved a full three strokes off her 2019-20 average, as she earned a 73.0 stroke average this past spring en route to becoming the first Panther since Katerina Krasova in 2017 to win Most Improved Golfer of the Year.
The Bogota, Colombia native was named C-USA Golfer of Week twice in 2021, after finishing first in a pair of tournaments. Andrade topped the individual stroke-play portion of the Battle at Old South, before winning the individual medal at the First Coast Classic two weeks later.
The senior concluded the spring with three Top 25 performances in her last four tournaments, including a tie for 12th at the C-USA Championship last week.
