FARMINGDALE, N.Y. - Keegan Bradley, eight-time PGA tour event winner and nephew of FIU Golf legend Pat Bradley, is set to lead Team USA into the 2025 Ryder Cup this weekend as captain of Team USA.

FIU will welcome 11 schools to the 305 as they host the 47th annual Pat Bradley Invitational at the Trump National Doral. The two day, 54-hole tournament will be held on Monday and Tuesday, September 29-30, with a shotgun start beginning at 8 a.m. on both days.

Pat Bradley, a member of the FIU Women's Golf team from 1972-74, was an All-American in 1973, the first All-American for FIU in any sport. A renowned golfer on the LPGA tour, Bradley won six major titles, including the 1981 U.S. Women's Open, and 31 LPGA tour events.

Bradley's career saw her win the Rolex Player of the Year twice (1986, 1991) and the Vare Trophy award twice, given to the golfer on the LPGA with the lowest scoring average on the tour. Her professional efforts saw her inducted into the World Golf Hall of Fame in 1991.

Keegan Bradley is a winner of eight PGA tour events, including his very first in the 2011 PGA Championships. Bradley has competed in 374 PGA events, earning 65 top-10 finishes, 39 top-five finishes, two third-place and 11 runner-up finishes.

The Ryder Cup, the biennial golf tournament that started in 1927 between professional golfers from the United States and Europe, kicks off for its 45th iteration this weekend. The three-day event takes place at the Bethpage Black Course in Farmingdale, New York, starting Friday, September 26 and extending through Sunday, September 28.

The Ryder Cup is a match play competition. There are 28 points on offer over the three days and the first past 14 points wins. Should the match end in a 14-14 draw, then the previous winner retains the trophy. If you win more holes than your opponent, you score a point for your team. If the match is tied, then you earn half a point for your team. During the first two days the players compete as pairs in two different formats; foursomes and four-balls. In four-balls, every player plays their own ball and whoever scores the lowest individual score wins the hole. If the two lowest scores are the same, then the hole is tied. Sunday sees 12 singles matches take place where players go directly head-to-head. Just like foursomes and four-balls, the lowest score wins the hole and if the scores are the same then the hole is tied.

Day one of the Ryder Cup can be found on the USA network, airing from 7 a.m.-6 p.m., while days two (7 a.m.-6 p.m.) and three (12 p.m.-6 p.m.) can be viewed on NBC, with around the clock coverage on Rydercup.com and the Ryder Cup app.
