KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — Women's golf finished the Tennessee-hosted Mercedes-Benz Intercollegiate on Tuesday afternoon, placing eleventh out of 15 teams.
The Panthers shot rounds of 368-369-376 over the three day invitational, 48-over the 71-par course. Freshman Elva Holmgren was the team's best performer, shooting 4-under par in the tournament with rounds of 69, 70 and 70. The Sweden-native ended tied for third overall in the 78-golfer field, highest overall of an FIU golfer so far this season.
Freshman Romane Poissonnier finished second on the team, shooting +8, while sophomore Catalina Harvey was third, shooting +11. Junior Gabriella Gomez shot +16, fourth on the Panthers, with senior Hoi Ki Lau finished fifth at +17.

The Panthers will have a small break before returning to the links for the UNC-hosted Ruth's Chris Tar Heel Invitational on October 17-19.
