TENAFLY, New Jersey (July 23, 2021) – FIU's Carolina Andrade is heading to the 121st U.S. Women's Amateur after firing a 3-under par 69 to medal at last week's sectional qualifier in New Jersey.
 
Andrade made the turn at 1-under par, and birdied a pair of par-fives on the back nine to shoot 3-under. The 69 placed Andrade two strokes clear of second place.
 
The Bogota, Colombia, native was named the Conference USA Golfer of the Week twice in 2021, while shaving three full strokes off her 2019-20 average along to the way to be named C-USA's Most Improved Golfer. Andrade also nabbed All-C-USA First Team honors after placing top 15 at the C-USA Championships.
 
The 121st U.S. Women's Amateur will be played August 2-8 at the Westchester Country Club in Rye, New York.
