MIAMI (Sept. 16, 2021) – The FIU women's swimming and diving team announced the release of its 2021-22 schedule on Thursday, with the seven-time defending Conference USA champions getting set for a new season of competition.

"We're definitely excited to get back to a normal schedule this year," said Coach Randy Horner. "We have a nice lineup of dual-meets leading up to our mid-season meets and we feel like the level of competition will be good for the ladies. Definitely excited about opening up at home against Miami to see where we're at as a team, and the [FIU TYR] Fall Classic will feature an amazing group of teams competing that will allow us to gauge ourselves."

FIU opens up the fall slate against crosstown foe Miami on Saturday, Oct. 2, at the Biscayne Bay Aquatics Center (BBC). The Panthers are back in their home pool the following weekend, when they host the FIU TYR Classic at BBC beginning Friday, Oct. 8 and ending on Saturday, Oct. 9. Before taking off for its first road contest, FIU tunes up with the Blue & Gold Alumni Inter-squad Meet at BBC on Thursday, Oct. 23. 

The Panthers hit the road for three consecutive contests, starting with a dual-meet at Nova Southeastern on Saturday, Oct. 30. FIU then makes the short trip to Fort Myers to see in-state foe Florida Gulf Coast the following Saturday, Nov. 6, before getting ready for the Purdue Invitational on Thursday, Nov. 18-20.

After nearly a month off, FIU returns to competition with four consecutive appearances at home, beginning with a C-USA dual-meet against Marshall on Friday, Dec. 17. The Panthers open the new year with the FIU Sprint Invite on Monday, Jan. 3 at BBC, before hosting the FIU Relays later that week on Saturday, Jan 8. The Blue & Gold finish the dual-meet slate with their second contest of the year against FGCU on Saturday, Jan. 22, at BBC, before wrapping up with a C-USA contest at Florida Atlantic the following Saturday, Jan. 29.

FIU hosts the annual South Florida Diving invitational on either Saturday, Feb. 5 or Sunday, Feb. 6, with the exact date to be decided. The Panthers wrap up the regular season with the Miami First Chance Invitational in Coral Gables, serving as a final tune up before the C-USA Championships. The bid for an eighth-straight C-USA title begins on Wednesday, Feb. 23, and ending on Saturday, Feb. 26.

The NCAA Dive Zones are set for Saturday, Mar. 5-7 next year, while the CSCAA National Invitational Championships are scheduled for Thursday, Mar. 10-12. The NCAA Championships will take place on Wednesday, Mar. 16-19.
