Diving Closes Out Competition at NCAA Zone B Diving Championships

Keenan and Lehtonen post career-highs in the platform event

ATHENS, Ga. – The FIU diving program wrapped up competition at the NCAA Zone B Diving Championships on Wednesday afternoon at Gabrielsen Natatorium, hosted by the University of Georgia.
 
FIU was represented by a trio of divers—Adyson Downey, Kristina Keenan and Ruska Lehtonen—throughout the three-day championship event.
 
The Panthers' strongest showing came in the platform competition, where both Keenan and Lehtonen delivered their top performances of the meet. Keenan posted a score of 465.70 to finish 13th overall, while Lehtonen followed with a score of 430.55 to place 16th.
 
Freshman Adyson Downey rounded out FIU's platform competitors in her Zone B debut, finishing 22nd with a score of 197.25.
 
Keenan also represented FIU in the 3-meter event, placing 30th overall with a score of 237.80.
 
In the 1-meter competition, Keenan and Lehtonen again competed for the Panthers. Keenan finished 25th with a score of 239.65, while Lehtonen placed 31st with a total of 226.25.

UP NEXT
FIU prepares for the NCAA Championships from Wednesday, March 18 - Saturday, March 21. Frida Stretre Løbersli is set to compete in the 100-breast event, marking the 15th straight year FIU will send a swimmer to the championships.
