MIAMI (Jan. 27, 2022) - The FIU women's swimming and diving team will compete in its last dual-meet of the season this Friday, Jan. 28, when the Panthers battle C-USA rival FAU in Boca Raton, Florida.
 
The Panthers and Owls are set to begin competition at 3:30 p.m. ET.
 
SCHEDULE OF EVENTS
The meet will run the standard 16 event format including two relays, 12 individual swimming events, as well as the 1-meter and 3-meter dives. The order of events is as follows:

200 Medley Relay
3m Diving (Will run concurrently with swimming)
1000 Freestyle
200 Freestyle
100 Backstroke
100 Breaststroke
200 Butterfly
50 Freestyle
1m Diving
20-minute break
100 Freestyle
200 Backstroke
200 Breaststroke
500 Freestyle
100 Butterfly
400 Individual Medley
200 Freestyle Relay
 
MEET PREVIEW
FIU enters the competition with a 5-1 overall record in dual meets this year. In their last head-to-head competition, the Panthers defeated FGCU by a score of 190-109 (Jan. 22) at the Biscayne Bay Aquatic Center on Senior Day.

FAU is 3-1 in dual-meets this season, with the Owls defeating St. Thomas in their last meet by a score of 181-58. 

FIU has beaten the Owls in 11 consecutive dual meets dating back to Oct. 5, 2013. Since joining Conference USA in 2013, the FIU women's swimming and diving team holds a perfect 11-0 record against its rival from Boca Raton.

The Panthers secured a 211-81 victory over FAU last season at home on January 30, 2021.
 
UP NEXT
The Panther divers are set to make an appearance on Saturday, Feb. 5, when FIU hosts the South Florida Diving Invite at the Biscayne Bay Aquatic Center. The Blue & Gold swimmers will appear next on Friday, Feb. 11, for a tuneup at the Miami First Chance Invitational.
