Box Score TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – The FIU women's tennis team recorded victories in five of six singles matches en route to a 4-2 win over Big Ten foe Illinois on the final day of the 2022 ITA Kickoff on Sunday in Tallahassee, Fla.
Senior
Kamila Umarova got things rolling for the Panthers with a 6-1, 6-3 straight set triumph over Kate Duong in the No. 1 singles matchup. Freshman
Yasmine Kabbaj followed with a hard fought 6-1, 7-6 (9-7) win at No. 2 and sophomore
Andjela Skrobonja registered a 6-3, 7-5 victory against Josie Frazier in No. 3 singles.
Freshman
Ines Bekrar tabbed a three-set win over Kida Ferrari in the No. 5 slot by a 6-1, 4-6, 6-4 score to close out the win for the Panthers.
FIU also tallied a win in doubles play with the No. 3 tandem of
